Our approach to wellbeing
Wellbeing at Santander International provides support across four pillars to help colleagues to thrive and build mental agility. Mental wellbeing

Mental Wellbeing is something we all have. Just like Physical Wellbeing, it can be managed, developed and improved over time. It’s how we are feeling and how well we’re able to cope with day-to-day life. When we have positive Mental Wellbeing, we feel more able to express our emotions and maintain good relationships with those around us. All of our colleagues have access to an online platform which has a series of videos, podcasts and hints & tips to manage and improve Mental Wellbeing.

Physical wellbeing

Physical Wellbeing is about conscious lifestyle choices such as regular exercise, eating well, staying hydrated, and getting a good night’s sleep. Our aim at Santander International is to be a healthy company to work for. To support our employees' wellness in the Isle of Man, we provide subsidised gym memberships at Prime Performance. In Jersey, we offer free membership to Aquasplash or discounted membership to Strive, giving our staff various options for staying active. Moreover, we believe in promoting eco-friendly commuting options and have introduced the Cycle-to-work scheme. Additionally, we prioritise the health and safety of our team members by providing comprehensive private medical insurance coverage. Encouraging a vibrant and interconnected work environment, we also encourage every member of staff to take part in our annual Move More in May initiative – a fun way to get moving and get to know colleagues in different teams and locations.

Financial Wellbeing is our ability to feel in control of our finances and respond to unpredictable financial events. It’s our ability to meet our financial goals in life, whether this is saving for a house, car or holiday, or planning for retirement or starting a family. At Santander International we offer a range of ways to help our colleagues save for their future, including; discounted staff mortgage rates, staff bank accounts available in Sterling, Euros and US dollars, and a pension scheme.

Social wellbeing

Social Wellbeing is about connecting with colleagues, our communities and the environment to develop strong support networks and a sense of belonging. It is knowing the people around us, looking out for one another, and considering the impact we have on each other and the world around us. At Santander International, Social Wellbeing might come from taking part in one of the activities organised by our Sports & Social Committee, taking part in one of our volunteering days to help our local community. We also support Social Wellbeing through a range of work-life balance family friendly and flexible leave policies.
