What you will be doing:
At Santander International we are committed to ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining robust governance frameworks, and upholding the highest standards of corporate integrity. Working in a friendly team we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Manager based in our Jersey office. This role will report directly to the Head of Compliance, Governance and Secretariat.
The difference you’ll make:
- Providing support with BAU activities and prioritisation by supporting the business with banking and investment compliance and regulatory matters.
- Providing input into the delivery of the compliance monitoring plan and book of work.
- Deputise where necessary in the absence of the Head of Compliance, Governance and Secretariat for all Jersey regulatory matters.
- Assist with mitigation of regulatory breaches and accompanying financial fines.
- Provides a responsive and timely advisory service on all day-to-day compliance matters e.g. financial promotion approvals.
What you’ll bring:
- Good knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably within an offshore banking context, including an understanding of the regulatory, statutory and governance requirements of operating in Jersey.
- Experience in banking and investment regulation is preferred.
- Prior experience with an offshore operation within a Risk, Compliance and/or Anti Money Laundering function preferred.
It would also be nice for you to have:
- Awareness of personal and business’ obligations under Jersey legislation.
- Experience of maintaining appropriate policies; applying procedures to monitor the business’ compliance with those policies to satisfy all relevant legislation
- Proven track record in providing advice and developing and owning solutions to compliance issues
- Possession or working to relevant compliance qualification, diploma level or above, issued by the International Compliance Association (‘ICA’), or similar body is preferred
