Attention, consumer finance professionals!  We have an exciting job opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic individual to join our Retail Banking team. 

Santander International provides banking services to Channel Island and Isle of Man residents, UK residents & expatriates, and is part of the Wealth Management and Insurance division, one of Santander’s five Global Businesses.

Consumer Finance is another of Santander’s Global Businesses with large operations across its footprint, including the UK. Santander Consumer UK (“SCUK”) is headquartered in Redhill, Surrey and is one of the leading independent finance companies with over half a million live customer agreements.

Currently, there is no SCUK presence in the Crown Dependencies and we believe there is an opportunity to capture significant market share leveraging the existing SCUK infrastructure.

 

What you will be doing:

As Business Development Manager, Consumer Finance your responsibilities will be divided into two phases.

Initially in phase one, reporting to the Head of Product Development your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with colleagues to design and implement the target operating model and value proposition for offering Consumer Finance products to Crown Dependency based customers (B2B and B2C).
  • Support the Head of Product Development with all internal governance approval processes to launch this new business line.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and regulatory requirements in the run up to launch, including risk assessments, etc.
  • Support the Chief Risk Officer with incorporating Consumer Finance into the Risk Appetite Statement.

Once the proposition is launched, in phase two, reporting to the Head of Retail Banking, your responsibilities will include:

  • Originate new to bank relationships within the agreed Crown Dependencies target market.
  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of clients, ensuring excellent client service provision and exemplary corporate governance.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and ongoing review of clients within the bank’s agreed AML and KYC policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for personal performance targets incorporating assets, profitability and new to bank client acquisition.
  • Develop network and own individual profile through the professional and business community to promote Santander International.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, improving customer satisfaction to achieve divisional goals to significantly increase market share.

What you'll bring:

  • The role holder requires a comprehensive level of knowledge and experience in Consumer Finance sales and the Crown Dependencies automotive industry, with an existing network of dealers.
  • The role holder will be expected to use their existing and new contacts and network to develop and build their portfolio.
  • The role holder will be expected to undertake business travel as may be required to develop and maintain the proposition and their portfolio.
  • Strong organisational skills and proven ability to work remotely undertaking business development.
  • Significant experience in developing business through established networks and connects
