Santander International staff help to clean the beach at Castletown, Isle of Man

Staff from Santander International have once again partnered with local charity, Beach Buddies, to clean the beach at Castletown. Twelve bags of rubbish were collected, which included; plastic bottles, rope, wire, clothing and even a syringe. The team also found lots of plastic cotton bud stems which were caught in the high tide seaweed.

“It never ceases to amaze me how much rubbish you can collect – at first glance our beaches look clean, but once you start looking you realise just how much rubbish is washed up by the sea. The plastic cotton bud stems have been in the news recently, so it was shocking to see just how many were in the hide tide seaweed. We’ve helped to make a difference today, which is really rewarding.” Lynne Corlett, Business Support Manager – Santander International.
