What you will be doing:

At Santander International we are committed to ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining robust governance frameworks, and upholding the highest standards of corporate integrity. Working in a friendly team we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Analyst based in our Isle of Man office. This is a junior role that will report directly to the Head of Compliance, Governance and Secretariat. Full training and support with development will be provided.

 

The difference you’ll make:

  • Assisting the Head of Compliance, Governance and Secretariat with all statutory and regulatory requirements with timely and accurate reporting to the Santander Group, the Boards of all subsidiaries and the Crown Dependency regulators
  • Assist with mitigation of regulatory breaches and accompanying financial fines
  • Contribute to the production of Compliance Monitoring Plan reports for submission at relevant committee meetings
  • Providing support with day-to-day compliance team activities and supporting the business with banking and investment compliance and regulatory matters
  • Mitigation of customer complaints in respect of data protection issues to support service enhancements and complaint related costs
  • Provide a responsive, quality and timely advisory service on all compliance and risk related matters to colleagues at all levels across the bank
  • Build and maintain good relationships with departments across the business

What you’ll bring:

  • Good understanding of the financial services industry, preferably within an offshore banking context, including an understanding of the regulatory, statutory and governance requirements of operating in the Crown Dependencies is preferred, but training will be provided
  • Previous experience with an offshore operation within a Risk, Compliance and/or Anti Money Laundering function preferred but not essential. 

 

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A positive ‘can-do’ approach
  • Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team
  • Microsoft Office 365 skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
